Abbi Completes the Singapore Sweep in F1 Academy

Abbi Pulling delivered a masterclass on the Streets of Singapore, as she secured both F1 Academy Pole Positions and Race Victories in superb style!

F1 Academy headed to Singapore for Round 5 of the Championship – with Abbi wearing a Special Helmet Design, created by the winner of her helmet design competition.

Free Practice took place under daylight, with the Alpine Academy backed RODIN Motorsport Championship leader, setting the pace and being the only driver posting a time inside the 2m03s bracket.

Qualifying took place later on as the night took over – alongside a drop in track temperate, but also an increase in track grip following the earlier Formula 1 Free Practice 1 Session.
Abbi immediately challenged the top of the timesheets, before catching up to traffic as she rounded out the first laps on her first stint – where she sat P3 overall on the timesheet.

For the second run and less than 10 minutes to go, Abbi would bolt on a fresh set of slick tyres – immediately vaulting to the top of the times by 0.25s on her first flying lap, before immediately following up with a brace of consistent laps to strengthen her advantage on the field.
Abbi ended the session securing both Pole Positions – her 7th of the season, and will line up at the front of the grid in both races.

Race 1 started an additional formation lap due to a car behind out of position on the grid, but Abbi nevertheless made a great launch to maintain her lead at the front of the pack.
She immediately pulled out a 0.7s gap on the opening lap, further extending it to over a second in the early stages with back-to-back fastest laps.

By half distance, Abbi had a 1.3s lead and the early fastest lap of the race to gain an extra point as she continued to lead her race. She further extended that to over 2 seconds into the closing stages, with superb consistency that saw her complete 7 laps in a row, within 1 tenth of a second - whilst continuously extending her lead.
Abbi took the chequered flag with a dominant lights-to-flag finish, securing her 6th win of the season!

Race 2 took place in much warmer track conditions - almost 20 degrees higher than in the previous race, making tyre degradation even more of a factor around the Singapore streets.
Abbi made a good start and defended her lead into turn 1, as the cars behind battled to give her some breathing space from the off - immediately pulling out a 1 second lead.

A short Safety Car was deployed on lap 3, but Abbi managed the restart well to maintain her lead.

At half distance, Abbi had once again pulled out over a 1 second gap to her rivals and set the fastest lap of the race as she continued to control the race out front.
Lap 8 would see Abbi begin to extend her advantage; setting continuous fastest laps which extended her lead to over 2 seconds into the closing stages.

Abbi crossed the line to take her seventh victory of the season, winning by over 3 seconds - with the fastest lap in a display of pure dominance in her Rodin Motorsport machine!

A superb Singapore weekend saw Abbi take both pole positions and both race wins - in a pretty much perfect weekend, to strengthen her grip on the lead of the F1 Academy Championship Standings.

Abbi Pulling:

"I couldn't have dreamt for a better weekend! The weekend in Singapore was incredible and it was so special doing it at such a venue that can be so unforgiving physically!
I am quite proud to say me and the team didn't put a foot wrong all weekend!
We did struggle a little bit in the start of qualifying, but thanks to the team and my engineer Zimba, we made some changes which really helped and we secured double pole.

Going into the races, I knew that Singapore was difficult to overtake on - so I had to get it off the line and control the race from there with good consistency, which we did and managed to take both victories.
Both races were pretty much a carbon copy! Race 2 was a bit easier in terms of management with what we changed compared to Race 1.

Really pleased with the weekend we had, doing the Double and sweeping the weekend is amazing!
Now I am looking forward to Qatar - where I will be putting all my effort into securing the F1 Academy title.

Huge thank you to RODIN Motorsport and Alpine as always! Alongside all my partners and everyone who supports me!"

Abbi leaves Singapore at the head of the championship on 245 points, with a healthy advantage of 95 on her nearest rival.

The next round of F1 Academy will take place at Qatar on the 29th November - 1st December.
