The Alpine Academy backed RODIN Motorsport driver headed into the weekend at the top of the F1 Academy standings following the opening round at Jeddah.
After setting the second fastest time in Practice One, Abbi would then hit the top of the times of Practice Two – encouraged by a positive step in balance ready for Qualifying.
Abbi hit the ground running early in Qualifying, setting the early benchmark and continued to head the times every time she put in a hot lap.
In the closing stages, Abbi managed to stamp her authority on the rest of the pack – setting two lap times that were 0.5s clear of the chasing pack, securing a fantastic ‘Double’ Pole Position in the process.
A delighted Abbi would start from the front of the F1 Academy grid for both Race One and Race Two.
Race One saw Abbi make a great start, immediately covering off Doriane Pin into Turn 1 and maintain her lead out front.
Abbi managed to control the race from early on – stretching out a lead of 0.9s by the end the opening lap. Her pace teamed with great tyre management saw Abbi able to continue to stretch her advantage throughout the race by 2-3 tenths a lap over her rivals, pulling out a 2.5s lead by the half-way point in the race.
In the closing stages, Abbi continued to lead with a comfortable advantage, as she made a push for fastest lap to secure all possible points.
Abbi’s pace out front saw her pull out commanding lead to 5.2s at the chequered flag, securing her second victory of the 2024 F1 Academy campaign with a dominant performance.
Race Two saw Abbi fend off the fresh tyre starting Bianca Bustamante down to turn 1 – maintaining her lead at the head of the field, pushing hard to try and break the tow from behind in the early stages.
She began to increase her advantage - eventually breaking the tow with a trio of early fastest laps to pull out a 1.8s gap by half distance.
Abbi would continue to set the pace out front, stretching her lead as the battle for P2 intensified behind - pulling out a lead of over 3 seconds as the race reached its climax.
Following a dominant performance out front, Abbi secured the win by 3.8s, alongside taking the bonus point for Fastest Lap – completing her ‘clean sweep’ of victories, with another commanding performance and capping off a near-perfect weekend.
Abbi Pulling:
"It was pretty much a perfect weekend! Scoring 57 points out of a possible 58 is incredible!
From the get-go, we were really quick and once we made some tweaks from Free Practice, I felt really good and comfortable."
"Race 1 we used our best tyres to maximise pole position and made full use of the team giving me a perfect car, to win with a 5-second gap."
"Race 2 was always going to be a bit more difficult, with the car alongside me starting on new tyres. I got my elbows out at the start to keep the lead, then it was almost a copy-paste of Race 1 by keeping consistent, managing the race and managing to have pace enough in hand to take the fastest lap - which was fantastic!
"A huge thank you to all my partners, the Alpine Academy for all their support and especially to all my engineers and the team at RODIN Motorsport - I can't thank them enough for an unforgettable weekend!"
Following a brilliant weekend in Miami, Abbi leads the F1 Academy Championship on 99 points.
The next round of F1 Academy will take place at the Circuit de Catalunya on the 21-23 June.
However, Abbi will be back in action at Brands Hatch Indy next weekend, for Round 2 of the British F4 Championship.
