After a bumpy start to the 2023 campaign, the Alpine Academy racer has enjoyed a silverware-laden run of late, including three podiums in the last four races across events at Valencia and Barcelona.
Pulling, one of the pre-season favourites to lift the crown in Formula 1’s new, all-female series, now sits third outright, having thinned the gap to her rivals with over half the season still to race.
And the 20-year-old from Spalding, UK heads to Zandvoort this weekend in optimistic form after some impressive pace during in-season testing, in which Pulling consistently set the second-quickest time around MotorLand Aragon.
Characterised by its high-speed, flowing nature and rapid changes in banking and gradient, Zandvoort represents a unique challenge for drivers. It’s a circuit Pulling has previous experience at, with a fourth-placed finish during her debut W Series season back in 2021.
The circuit is known worldwide for hosting the Formula 1 ® Dutch Grand Prix, and this year celebrates 75 years as a top-line international motorsport venue.
After two free practice sessions to get dialled in on Friday, qualifying marks the beginning of competitive action at 08:00 (CET) on Saturday. The opening race follows that afternoon at 16:30.
Sunday features the usual double-header of action, with highlights available post-weekend on F1TV and across F1 Academy’s social media platforms.
Abbi Pulling said:
“I’m really looking forward to this weekend at Zandvoort, having had a nice break to relax and reset a bit before the second half of the season.
I’ve been doing a lot of preparation with the team at Rodin Carlin, so I’m going into the weekend feeling very prepared."
“Zandvoort is a fun and unique circuit to drive on, and definitely up there with my favourites. It’s quite similar to the UK circuits by nature, particularly the likes of Oulton Park, which I love for how raw and ‘on the edge’ it is to drive.
“I’m also super excited to have some of my fantastic partners with me for this weekend, including My First Alert, Host Media and Gazing Performance Solutions. Hopefully we can put on a good show them!”
